Mott Haven, Bronx

A Charter School and  Children's Services Facility serving the neighboring community.
Built upon the shell of a long vacant public school, the adaption is comprised of a 3 story rooftop addition for Children's Services, while the lower 5 stories house a Community Clinic and a K-5 Charter School. An 8 story vertical circulation core ties the building together and incorporates a  gymnasium at the base with a landscaped play area above. Designed with sustainability at the fore, the building serves as a beacon along the Major Deegan Expressway, signifying the resurgence of the Mott Haven neighborhood.
